Dear Friend,

Oh my gosh; I can't tell you how many parents never learned how to play! They don't know how to connect with their child in a simple easy manner. This produces frustration and disconnection. You don't want to become your child's playmate; however if you know how to play, you can get along better, even as you are getting them to do their chores!

If you are frustrated in parenting, in your relationship, or with some of your clients, (even with yourself) and want to change some brain habits, this will be the most important book you'll ever read.

But first, we know everybody gets "set in their ways!"

Opinionated, heels dug in, hard to see the other person's point of view...

Digging in creates a power struggle and those are addictive and exhausting. They are usually protecting something deeper, and hold a hidden story.

Good news is you can Learn to Improvise! and redirect power struggles into Play and Creativity. (scroll down for The Cocoanut story, or "How Mom Saved the Watershed.)"

I can tell you, it is so discouraging when couples are stuck in power plays around needs. They lose their sense of play and don't know how to find the curiosity and love!

Because I supervise therapists, I also hear about how exhausting or non-motivated therapists become when they don't see change with their clients.

Take heart, because there are ways to rekindle a creative intelligence for engaging with kids, and for supporting healing with clients.

Lack of humor or play is when everybody pulls away from creative relating. The focus falls onto what doesn't work because the nourishment has gone away. That's when life does become a burden.

I have worked with hundreds of individuals who yearned for a sense of playfulness in their partnership, or wanted family life to be enjoyable rather than caught in parenting struggles, and I've supervised therapists who were ready to 'throw in the towel.'

These people were just like you--exhausted by rigid behavior patterns, or by their partner being too serious or "over-processing" their relationship; or as a therapist, by not seeing clients or kids make changes.

You have lobbied for change, and probably already tried everything you know. Maybe you've even given up and surrendered to life or work being a burden.

What people don't know is that you can change the brain using Improvisation to enjoy life and get creative results.

Many people think play is an add-on, not an essential. Don't be fooled by that idea!

Improvisation is an essential ingredient for problem solving. It builds stamina and focus as well. The games and writing exercises in this book bring a new kind of creativity; beyond what you could imagine through critical thinking. You can neural prune your brain for better results and more fun using these exercises.

Improvisation study really works! I wrote down the very skills I spent years studying and then applying in my work with kids, my coaching and therapy work, my performance art, and toward staying flexible in the day to day challenges in my relationship. You can learn these skills! Plus I am going to share more personal how-to's in the online course (where you get the ebook for free!).

I learned, years ago while recovering from a state of extreme stress, the power of improvisation. By having great teachers who taught me how to engage my bodymind in new ways, I was able to pull myself out of worry and find energy for life. It was a major turning point in my life, and I wish the same for you!

You are probably used to over-efforting, numbing out, or being caught in power struggles by now, and don't really think there is much more you can do. But if you learn to Improvise! with the skills in this book, you really can get some relief.

Best of all, you develop a playful connection with yourself. You learn to take life less seriously and to awaken your  creative muse to help you stay human during stress.

Taking time to explore the practices in this book is fun and even helps you reset. But don't take it from me.

If you want to keep worrying or working hard to problem solve, using the same tools that haven't produced results,   don't bother reading more. If you want to take the chance for a new perspective instead of giving up or blaming others,

... let me jump right in and show you ..."

There's no fluff or filler - just tried-and-tested Improvisation to change the brain!

The course takes you on a journey, and the book is easy to read. Even better, it's fun!

This is About MORE Than Just Improvising!

You can use the learnings in this course to encourage your own confidence and understanding of how and when to take action.

For example, I've also used these practices with adults who were anxious, or ambivalent, or controlling. It helped them to engage, turn anxiety into energy, or let go of control. Improvisation supports brain skills for my clients no matter how controlling they want to be!

A client who was afraid to stop "over-thinking," learned to relax and enjoy her life. A couple stuck on "your way-my way" learned to find the shared exchange of problem solving and become good at it!

A  therapist always wanting to "know the answer" could surrender her brain, and actually enter into better relationship with herself and thus her clients.

A parent caught in constant power struggles with her child learned how to redirect her stress into playful ideas with her son. Through improvisation explorations, she relaxed and learned to engage him to join in the skills she needed to help him learn.

So like I said, there's more to this little course and book than "just" playing. Here's a fraction of what you're getting...

  • Help to give you enjoyable options instead of relentless inner worries, fears, and reactivities!

  • Ways to keep out of power struggles by seeing other choices through improvisation skills.

  • Plenty of ways to improvise "in the moment" to design interventions for clients, or to even help a child get their chores done.

  • Access to basic play right at your fingertips. Your brain will know the pathway to go there and this makes life more fun.

  • You will develop a facile mind; using practices that "train your brain" away from controlling behavior and orient you to enjoy and appreciate life.

And much, much, more!

But you know what you'll really love?

Relief from Rigid thinking!

Listen. If you don't like long persuasive arguments, work exhaustion, or being controlled by your child or spouse, you're certainly not alone.

I can't stand that either. I would do anything to find more fun in life and not take things so seriously.

So many people numb out through television or addiction to escape their own brain and frustrations.

And that's why I've spent years learning to "play" when at work, when learning new skills, and when relating to others under stress. I've tested these exercises with adults and youth to make sure they work.

When you understand Improvisation from the inside out, two things will happen.

First, you'll be much better company to yourself!

Your "inner child" will come away from these explorations viewing you as a playful, creative person who knows how to take action while including others.

This is really important to you because it sets you up for success throughout life; those long term goals of partnership or work so life doesn't become tedious or dull. You are likely to become a more integrated and cooperative adult.

The next thing you'll notice is this:

You'll know how to look for the good news or humor when a melt-down is about to occur!

And you'll do it without brain exhaustion; you won't have to convince yourself of anything because you'll have improvisation at your fingertips...to guide you immediately in ways to stay in your body, speak up when needed, bring a smile to others, or relax and enjoy!

That's because Improvisation is a bodymind skill!

Yes, you heard that right. Your sensate impulses will have you sensing and choosing from myriads of possibilities, and you will follow through on your choices. Your body will actually do part of the choice making effort for you when you use these improvisational practices I'm including in your book."

Here's What To Do Next

The "cost" of this course is only $97, and the ebook is free!

Why such a low price? Because, I think play is needed everywhere, and the more people who know how to play, the better it is for families, children, and communities. Plus Playback Theater helps communities connect and care!

That's all part of my mission!

As soon as you place your order, you'll get an automated receipt with a link with access to the course directly in your email. Plus a way to download the ebook.

Oh, and in case you're wondering ...

Will This Really Work?

"I realize this course is very inexpensive ...so you might wonder what the "catch" is.

And I know there are some courses out there that offer you a great idea but nothing really changes.

This isn't one of them.

There's NO deep "spiritualized beliefs" you have to believe or anything even remotely like that.

It's real tried and tested exercises in the book, plus dialog and application in The Power of Play online, that I have used with kids and adult clients with great results.

I'm literally giving you this course plus a free ebook as a means of "helping you get results" and demonstrating real value.

My hope is that you'll love it and this will be the start of a good understanding relationship with yourself that brings you happiness for years to come.

But with all that said, there is ONE thing to keep in mind:"

You Better Interrupt Effortful Brain Seriousness and Emotional Over-Processing  Soon!

Otherwise, you get caught in a behavioral loop and end up on the "power triangle."

I watched this with a couple that was "too nice." They could never make joint decisions. He was trying to please her and she was trying to please him. If they could Improvise, and use the game "Yes and..." from my ebook, one of them would have shared an idea and the other would have said, "Yes, and..." and they would have gotten an action to happen instead of a tedious care-taking that sucks the life out of partnership.

The sad part about inaction or "being too nice" is that it is exhausting, in a different but equally difficult way as over-controlling. Good news is Improvising helps those who tend to hold back do something different. They learn to take action. Those who control, learn to open to other possibilities and be curious about the addition of other viewpoints.

In most cases, I take a loss when selling a course and book at this price. Writing involves not just the collection of ideas and formatting into simple exercises, but the years of gathering and application to make sure you are getting something worthwhile. Then there is the online course component as well!  Yet you can have it all for $197!

So why would I do that?

Simple. I believe in people enjoying life and finding their inner creative muse. Maybe it's part of my belief in the power of body-mind-spirit integration, and that the world is a better place when people cooperate even when they have different opinions. My mom was a social worker who taught us how to play. She was elected to City Council (first woman ever in Oakland Park!) and here's one of my favorite stories about her chutzpah and creativity...

"The Cocoanut Story" or "how Mom saved the watershed creek from developers"

The City of Oakland Park didn't have $50K for an environmental study back in 1976. The developers wanted to fill in a little creek and build lots of houses. We knew, growing up on the canal, that this creek was a watershed that allowed water to flow all the way from the Intercoastal to our canal and back out! It was an essential part of the waterways!

So my mom got creative. She asked my brothers to get her 2 cocoanuts which she painted hot pink and lime green. Then she asked my brothers to ride their bikes to the bridge over the Intercoastal and drop the cocoanuts into the water!

For 2 weeks they went to the near side of the creek where the water eddied in our canal. Finally, floating in the eddy swirls, were the 2 cocoanuts. They had traveled all that way from the Intercoastal through the tiny creek in question into our back yard canal. Mom took them to city council as supporting evidence and won the case! Because the creek was seen as a watershed, the developers were stopped. Now that was Improvisation!

This is the kind of creative problem solving I want for you! I'm making this offer with the idea that you'll very much enjoy what I'm giving you today, and you'll want to tell your friends about it, and more people will buy this book and take my course!

I'm betting that you'll enjoy the book so much, you'll tell others, like therapists, couples counselors, or other parents, to get my book. You may even find someone who wants to help college interns make a difference in high school gun violence with The Playback Theater section of the book. Then they will want to learn these skills and start taking action to help end school violence. Or want to study with me, and to take additional classes or trainings.
